All-On-4 Fixed Dentures: A Revolutionary Immediate Teeth Replacement Solution

Are you missing all or most of your teeth? Do you wear full or partial dentures? If so, then you are probably familiar with the challenges removable dentures present. All-on-4 dental implants are a revolutionary form of immediate teeth replacement. They involve only four implants, two in the front and two in the back. The back implants are typically angled toward the front at an angle of about 45 degrees. This angling provides sufficient stability in the bone and allows for the placement of only two implants in the back of the mouth. It also positions the implants in a way that maximizes the amount of available bone while still allowing for comfortable chewing of foods.

In the front, the implants are positioned at a 90-degree angle to one another. This design makes the solution ideal to help you regain the smile you once had. As the four posts are placed in the bone of the jaw, they create a very stable foundation for the abutments to be placed on. Once the anchors are placed into the gums, impressions are taken. These impressions are then sent away to a lab where your new custom denture will be fabricated and returned to our office for your fitting. Once it is placed in your mouth, you can immediately begin eating all the foods you love again!

The prosthesis is then fitted with the plastic bar that connects to the abutments of the implants. The bar is very thin and flexible, allowing you to perform all normal activities without having to worry about your restoration coming out. Because the appliance uses such a small amount of implants, it’s also more affordable than other implant solutions.

What Are the Benefits of All-On-4 Fixed Dentures?

When all of your teeth are missing, you have a choice of different tooth replacement options. While traditional dentures can give you a full smile, they may just be a temporary solution while you wait for your mouth to heal enough to support implants or a fixed bridge. In contrast, All-On-4 dental implants are permanent and allow you to eat and speak as you did before your teeth were extracted. They also prevent bone loss in your jaw, which typically happens over time with traditional dentures because there are no removable parts that need to fit around your gums. This dental implant process only takes two office visits to complete.

Am I a Good Candidate for All-On-4 Fixed Dentures?

Most patients are good candidates for All-On-4 fixed dentures. However, there are some restrictions, such as your jaw size and bone density. Your dentist will evaluate the condition of your teeth and gums, as well as your medical history, to determine whether you are a good candidate for this revolutionary procedure. If you are healthy enough to undergo surgery, you will most likely qualify for All-On-4 fixed dentures.
